About Us
SystemicEnzymeSupport.org is created,
researched and written by
Joseph J. Collins, RN, ND. Dr. Collins is a
Naturopathic Physician trained at the National College of
Naturopathic Medicine, Portland, Oregon, and licensed in the State
of Washington. His Naturopathic Medical practice has always focused
on an integrative approach to healthcare, with an emphasis on
integrative & functional endocrinology and cellular signaling. Dr.
Collins’ work with cell signaling involves appropriate use of
essential fatty acids, phytotherapeutic agents, and
systemic enzyme support.
Dr. Collins has participated in the development and expansion
of diagnostic laboratories and integrative healthcare clinics on
both United States coasts. As an experienced medical educator he has
presented educational lectures to physicians, pharmacists and
consumer groups on diagnostic and therapeutic applications within
the integrated, functional medicine model.
Dr. Collins has used
systemic enzyme support
within his practice for over 15 years. After very briefly trying
various “new” enzymes, he quickly switched back to
Wobenzym® N
after reviewing 2003 research revealed that
Wobenzym® N could effectively treat Lymphedema for a
difficult case. He authored and designed the
Systemic
Enzyme Support poster,
and the SystemicEnzymeSupport.org website to providing easy access
to clinical research, testimonies and education about the conditions
that are successfully treated with
Wobenzym® N or
Wobenzym® PS.

This website is for educational purposes, and does
not sell Wobenzym® N or Wobenzym®
PS, nor does it link to any sites that sell Wobenzym®
N or Wobenzym® PS.

Visitors to this website
will especially be impressed by the amount of international
literature on the topic of systemic enzyme support and noticed that
in many cases the original research used the words “Wobenzym”
or “Phlogenzym”, referring to the specific products made by Mucos in
Germany. While some companies that promote other enzyme formulations
may sometimes edit out the words “Wobenzym”
or “Phlogenzym”, there is
no such editing in this website. If some of the research summaries
do not mention “Wobenzym”
or “Phlogenzym”, the reader will often find them mentioned in
the full text article. The reader will note that Wobenzym is
now called Wobenzym®
N, and Phlogenzym is now called
Wobenzym® PS.
What impressed Dr. Collins most
about the Wobenzym
formulation is not just his own experiences using it, but the
experience of medical researchers and writers from around the world.
Dr. Collins used about 80 of those references to create the first
Systemic Enzyme Support poster. The complete abstracts, research
summaries, and occasionally full-text articles of those references
can be seen on this website. Sharing the poster and its references
is one reason why he started this website. It is also a place he can
share other abstracts, research summaries and articles about
systemic enzyme support.
