Systemic enzyme therapy is today already a
widely accepted therapeutic method for many pathological conditions.
Its purpose consists in the administration of high doses of
proteolytic enzymes of both animal and vegetable origin, which take
effect on physiologic and mainly pathophysiologic actions in
organism. Systemic enzyme therapy is applied for its therapeutic and
preventive effects. Besides the fibrinolytic and also thrombolytic
effects, further antiedematous, antiinflammatory, immunomodulatory,
analgetic, anti-infection and propably antitumorous effects were
described in the literature. In the Czech market there are the
preparations WOBENZYM®, PHLOGENZYM® ,
WOBE-MUGOS® and MULSAL® N at disposal for
systemic enzyme therapy.
The presented preliminary study verified that mentioned preparations
can be given even to patients after stomatosurgical intervention so
as preventively, as subsequently to the shortening the time of edema
and pain in the extraction place and also the shortening of healing.
